The local government unit of City of Balanga, in partnership with the Department of Education – Balanga City, conducted the 2024 Education Summit last October 2 at the Bataan People’s Center.

Balanga City Mayor Francis S. Garcia reported the City’s accomplishments and programs across all sectors giving emphasis on their triumphs in education. Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roland M. Fronda highlighted the current state of education in the City, emphasizing their future plans to further enhance learning opportunities and realize the City’s vision of a World Class University Town.

Ms. Denise Fabella, Executive Director of Khan Academy Philippines expressed her gratitude to the City of Balanga for their collaboration to embed Khan Academy into their ICT curriculum, enabling the students with a new innovative tool that will help them absorb difficult subject concepts through their online platform.

Said summit underscored the City’s commitment to advancing education through collaboration, technology, and forward-thinking initiatives. Also present in the Education Summit were Hon. Victor A. Baluyot Jr., Chairman on Committee on Education; SPTA Officers; Ms. Bernadeth Baran, Director for Curriculum Learning Design and Strategic Management of Khan Academy Philippines; teachers; and other stakeholders.
